the whole point of subscribing is to follow someone's work and be notified about it? "Well some people don't like notification spam!" Well yes, that's true, but they can OPT OUT. by default you AREN'T signed up for notifications? Like. Or even the fact that when you subscribe to someone. ![]() I'd also like to shake my head and whoever thought the 'live' tab was a good option, that fact that they're throttling our bit rate for video quality behind nickle-and-dime tactics, and the forced "too big" or "too small" 'functionality of the thumbnails, or the fact that, nowadays, by DEFAULT, if you go to a channel's "VIDEOS" tab, its now AUTO SORTED BY AN ALGORITHM labeled 'For You' instead of chronological order, which is something I found out the hard way when the update rolled out the other day and I had recently cleared my history and cookies so I wasn't logged in. Essentially, good design gets them more money, but because there's no competition and they're so large now its sort of inevitable that dumb things slip through the cracks and aren't important enough to worry about. If I'm making a playlist to podcast mode while I'm working, it a mild and minor but noticeably frustrating inconsistency which makes it a regular speed bump in usability, which in the end does affect user enjoyment and mood, which then affects engagement. -Īnd means that I'm less likely to bother when I have to fuss with three clicks + instead of one per video. ohp, its just teased me again, teehee, get cucked. ![]() comes back! And stays! And I can click on it and use it! And then. Mildly infuriating.īut here's where it gets better. Now I have to click on the three dots to access all the 'quick actions' i used to be able to do - including add to playlist. Then, when I hover my cursor BACK over the video (after the 'preview' auto play is stopped by moving my cursor away and then back again) its just. 2 seconds and the video starts to 'auto preview' OR when I try to click on it (I have yet to successfully catch that sneaky little button!) ![]() To elaborate - when I hover over a video, SOMETIMES the add to queue button is there, but then it disappears as soon as i try to hover for more than. I HAVE experienced this, but what's even more infuriating? Is that I wish it WAS just 'gone' - because MY youtube does the bait and switch!!
